Open Relationship: Definition

Sex and everything that goes with it, not only with your partner but with different people. More and more people like the idea and can definitely imagine it. More and more people are speaking up for an open relationship.
Sex with more people than just your own partner, with the partner knowing about it and agreeing to it.
An open relationship can definitely work
The prerequisite for such a relationship to have any chance at all is that both people want it. More and more people who previously kept a monogamous partnership are willing to open it up. The reasons are very different; many cite sexual dissatisfaction, too little sex, or that the spark has gone out of the existing partnership. Those are already the wrong reasons and can hardly be solved by an open relationship. If something is missing in a relationship, you can't solve that by looking for it elsewhere.
Many feel there are certain experiences they haven't been able to have yet and want to make up for them. Unfortunately, that's a fallacy, and it not infrequently backfires. In the end, it almost always turns out that only one of the two really wanted this situation.

This kind of relationship can still work if clearly defined rules are followed. These include, among others:
- Quite a few couples agree that sex with friends and acquaintances is strictly off limits.
- Only a one-time encounter takes place.
- They also agree how much the other person is told about
the new sexual partner.
- Others, by contrast, don't want to know at all.
To make an open relationship work, it's important to talk it through beforehand and stick to the rules you set.
If you don't stick to them, there's a risk of a breach of trust.
In an open relationship, think about yourself too

Even with this kind of relationship, it makes sense to set certain days as a couple. That means your partner knows from the start what's going on that day. He doesn't have to say, I'm going out today or meeting someone.
Don't forget regular conversations about this topic; communication is important to find out how you're doing with the relationship. Even so, an open relationship remains a big risk. There is definitely a danger of falling in love with the new partner and developing feelings. Love and sex can't always be separated.
Still, there's always the option to end an open relationship and return to a monogamous one.
One thing is clear: with so many rules, stress arises, and stress makes everything more complicated.
