Who I am

I’m 34, I live in Zurich, and I’ve been with a man who is 15 years older than me for six years now. At first it was a topic for the people around us; by now it’s simply our reality. On Altersunterschied.ch I write about what I’ve experienced myself and what I’ve learned from other couples.

My goal isn’t to sugarcoat age gaps, but to show realistically what actually works in these relationships: open communication, dealing with other people’s reactions, and how to grow together despite different stages of life.

How it all began

When I met my partner, I was surprised by how many prejudices I had without realizing it. Only over time did I notice that the real challenges were very different from what I expected – not the age itself, but the reactions from our surroundings and the question of how to plan for the long term.

These experiences shaped me, and I want to pass them on, because back then I would have loved to hear honestly from someone what a relationship with an age gap really looks like day to day.
