Older Men Want Younger Women

Decades ago it was perfectly normal for a man to want to be 10 years older than his wife. And society had it firmly fixed in its mind: older men want younger women.
Today society is more open, and older women quite often have younger partners. Even so, it is still the norm that the man is generally older. A large age gap is an issue whether it's the man or the woman who is older, but in general it is the men who are older than the women.
Older men want younger women - is that always the case?
As the saying goes, love knows no bounds. In the end, the boundaries exist in people's heads. A fixed image prevails of how love between a woman and a man should unfold. Whatever the age gap, the form of the relationship mostly consists of a steady partnership, later living together, getting engaged and getting married. Despite the era of new forms such as "mingles" or open relationships, the committed partnership dominates social life.
Criteria and their pitfalls

The criteria for what a partnership should look like change over the decades and centuries. Women have liberated themselves, and yet the battle of the sexes remains. It is seen as scandalous when a woman has a man 20 years younger, even entering an official relationship with him.
Does "older men want younger women" get the same raised eyebrows here? A little, yes, but by no means to the point of a scandal.
Only love counts
- Older men want younger women
At the end of the day, only love counts. Young or old, whatever the age gap, the heart should always decide. Women do sometimes choose money. But can that work out? Isn't love what should be lived?
It is a decision women and men have to make again and again in their lives. Some people have preconceived views. "He can't be over 40!" "There's no way I'm taking a woman who is older than me!" But life shows again and again that it takes other paths. Then exactly one person enters your life who doesn't fit the preset criteria.

Yet men beyond a certain age feel their ego validated when they have a younger woman at their side. But doesn't it ultimately make them look older? Aren't they smirked at precisely because of it?
There's no blanket answer to this question. It's better considered case by case. A large age gap doesn't rule out feelings and love. Perhaps at first it's just sympathy? A date that isn't taken seriously? You meet and think, well, this can't go anywhere anyway. But with every date, something slowly grows together.
We should go through the world with an open mind and give life and love room to unfold!
